Club Facilities

The Club has a number of facilities available to Members, ranging from Dining and Function Rooms to change room facilities.

Members may utilise these facilities for Meetings, Relaxation, Private Events and Daily Dining.

Members' Dining Room

Open to Members and their guests, the Members Dining Room offers a sumptuous buffet featuring Soup, Fish, Roast of the day and a selection of Cold Meats, Salads, Cheese and Fruit. Members may also select from the Grill Menu which is served to the table a la carte.

The Members’ Dining Room is open for lunch Monday to Friday, with two luncheon gongs sounded. The buffet lunch concludes at 2:00pm

Garden Drawing Room

Overlooking the terrace, the Garden Drawing Room is an elegant location to meet for coffee and conversation or light refreshments prior to dining in the Verandah Room. Members and guests may enjoy alfresco tables which are available on the terrace in the warmer months. The Garden Drawing Room is available from 7:00am to 8:30pm Monday to Sunday.

The Verandah

Members and mixed company guests, will enjoy a contemporary all day dining menu in an elegant setting overlooking the Grand Lawn.  The Verandah is an ideal destination to enjoy a diverse range of dining options from a light sandwich lunch, a full a la carte meal, tapas style share plates, a pre theatre meal, and coffee after the show. Members may book tables for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, or enjoy a coffee and cake with friends or business colleagues. Tables are available for alfresco dining on the verandah in the warmer months.

The Members Bar

(Members and their gentlemen guests)

The Members bar is adjacent to the Garden Drawing Room and is open to Members and their gentleman guests.

Members and guests can meet in the bar for refreshments prior to dining in either the Member’s Dining Room or the Verandah Room or for drinks after work with colleagues.

The Members Bar is a standout feature of the Club, with a Grand jarrah plinth and a marble top bar. The Bar overlooks the terrace with outdoor settings for Members and their guests to sit and enjoy.

The Members bar is open at the following times:

Monday to Wednesday – 11:00 am to 8:00 pm

Thursday to Friday – 11:00 am to 11:30 pm

Saturday – 5:00pm to 11:30 pm

Change Room Facility

Open continuously. The Members change room located on the First Floor is equipped with a shower, hand basin, towels, toiletries and clothes ironing equipment.

Balston Library

(Members and Reciprocal Members while resident in the Club House)

The Balston Library is located on the 1st floor of the Club House and contains a collection of fiction, nonfiction and reference books. Members may borrow books for a period preferably not exceeding one month.

Computers with an up-to-date word processing programme and Internet access are provided in the adjacent Reading Room and Guest Lounge.

To assist Members in sourcing books (both in the Balston Library and externally), the Club Librarian, Mr Stephen Cayless, is available every Friday between the hours of 10.00am and 2.00pm.

The Billiard Room

Light Lunch

The Billiard Room has a number of activities and competitions throughout the year. These include a Lightning Snooker carnival a Round Robin competition and the Annual Snooker competition and Dinner in November. The Billiard Room is best utilised on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

A light a la carte menu is available for Members who are playing Billiards or requiring a lighter, more casual meal.

Monday to Friday, 12.45pm until 2.00pm.

The Sitting Room

Located on the First Floor, this is an elegant room for Members and their guests to enjoy some afternoon tea and light refreshments.  Facilities available include; a computer, TV, DVD and sound system.

Bridge

Members Bridge

Members Bridge is held every Tuesday commencing at 12 noon. Members play in a group of 4 in the Frederick Barlee and Barrack Rooms. A light lunch of soup and sandwiches is served, followed be tea and coffee.
